In most of our coverage area we are on site within a couple of hours for a true emergency, and often faster at night when traffic is light. When you call we give you a real window based on where the nearest truck is.
Shut off the water. Most homes have a main shut-off where the supply enters the basement or crawlspace, usually near the meter. If the leak is at a single fixture, the small oval valve under that fixture will do. If you smell gas, leave the building first and call from outside.
