Leak Detection in Madrid: what the job involves

A water bill that jumped, a meter that creeps with everything closed, a warm patch on a floor, a musty smell with no visible source - these are leaks you cannot see. We locate them with acoustic listening equipment, thermal imaging and pressure isolation, so the opening we make is a small one in the right place instead of a large one in the wrong place.

The method depends on the suspect. Supply leaks under a slab give themselves away acoustically under pressure. Drain leaks need isolation and sometimes a camera. Leaks in a wall cavity are often found faster with thermal imaging than with a hammer. We work through it in order rather than guessing.
